K2: Christian Living Education (Advent Wreath)




Make your own Advent Wreath from ordinary house hold materials.





Materials:

Old News Papers
Red Crepe Paper
Green Crepe Paper
Paper Clips
Scissor
Cutter Knife
Glue Gun
Glue Sticks
4 Plastic Cups
4 Tissue Paper Roll Cartons
Used Ribbons
Colored Tape
Glue
Paint Brush
Scotch Tape
Gold or Silver Poster Paint

Procedure:



1.  Roll 2 Sheets of Old news paper. Secure the end together using tape.  Form a circle using by connecting the ends of the news paper rolls together with tape.


2.  Strengthen your wreath by adding more layers of old news paper using a mixture of 2 parts craft glue and 3 parts water as adhesive.


3. Cut a strip of green crepe paper approximately 2 inches in length.


4. Make incisions on your crepe paper strips at least half of it's length.


5. Cover your wreath with the green strips of crepe paper using glue.


6. Decorate your plastic cups with colored tape.


7. Make 2 incisions at the side of your plastic cups, just enough to slip a strip of ribbon.  Connect it to the Wreath with your glue gun and glue stick.


8.  Paint your tissue paper rolls with silver or gold poster paint and let it dry.


9. Place the tissue paper rolls inside the plastic cups. Tie used ribbons to the plastics cups (3 Violet and 1 Pink Ribbon).


10. For more effect you can make a flower out of paper clips and Red Crepe paper.  Cut a strip of red crepe paper and wrap it around a piece of straightened piece of paper clip. Secure the ends with tape and you can now wrap it around your wreath.

11. Place the candles inside the Tissue paper rolls.
12. Congratulations, you now have your Advent Wreath.
