Make a Secret Message Using Baking Soda and Dark Colored Juice

Here's another way you can make your own secret message using baking soda and any dark colored juice.

Materials:

A clean sheet of paper

Baking Soda

Water

Dark Colored Juice
Paint Brush

Cotton  Buds

Procedure:

1. Make a paste with baking soda and water, a 1:1 ratio should be good.

2. Using a paint brush, proceed to paint your message on a clean sheet of paper and let it dry completely.  You are now ready to send your secret message to your friends.

3. Here is where the fun begins. To display the message, dab your cotton buds on any dark colored juice and paint over the message.

4.  Congratulations your done...

Note: The message will disappear once it completely dries up.

How it works:

There are pigments in the juice called Anthocyanins.  These give the juice it's color and also reacts with baking soda. Anthocyanins works as a PH indicator, just like a piece of litmus paper . Since baking soda is a base, the pigments react and change color.
