Travelling Water Experiment

See water travel from one container to another with the principle of Capillary Action.  You can also observe how secondary colors are produced by combining 2 primary colors.

Materials:

3-5 empty Glasses.
Food Coloring (Red, Yellow, Blue)
Water
Paper towels

Procedure:

1. Fill-up 3 empty class with water and mix in the food coloring for each glass.

2.  Line them up separated by the 2 empty glasses in between (Yellow Glass + Empty Glass + Red Glass + Empty Glass + Blue Glass).

3.  Cut a paper towel in half and fold it into quarters lengthwise.

4.  Carefully insert one end into the glass with colored water and the other end into the empty glass. Continue doing this for all the glasses.  You may need to adjust the paper towels to make sure that the water is continuously flowing.   This experiment may take a couple of hours to complete.  So I'd suggest that you do another activity while you wait for the results or better go outside and play.

5.  Congratulations your done...
