K2 Maths: Number Train (Counting 1-20) Exercise

A fun way of learning how to count from 1-20 using the Number Train.

Materials Needed:

Pieces of Card Boards
Foam Numbers/Letters
One hole punch
Sticker Paper
Scissors
Yarn
Eyelets
Eyelet Setter
Glue/Glue Gun

Procedure:

1. Fold a piece of card board into 8 parts (you can use card boards of different colors).

2. Cut the pieces of card board until you produce exactly 20 card board pieces.

3.  Punch 2 holes on each card board piece (one on the top & one on the bottom).
4. Strengthen the holes by using eyelets.  Fasten them in place using your eyelet setter.

5. Prepare the numbers 1-20 from your foam numbers.

6. Paste the foam numbers into your card board using glue or better yet use a glue gun as it dries faster.

7. If you have enough foam letters you can also spell our the numbers in words or you can just print them on a piece of sticker paper.   Place the number words in the back of each card board. Just make sure that the words match the equivalent numbers at the back.

8. Lay down the finished card boards on the table to check if all the numbers are complete.

9. Using a piece of yarn & scissors start connecting the card boards together from 1-20.
10. Congratulations... You're done...
