Fizz Balloon Experiment

Playing with balloons are always fun.  Why not take it another level by blowing up balloons with vinegar and baking soda.  Experiment with acid and base reactions and see how they work.

Materials:

Clean and empty plastic bottle
1/2 cup of vinegar
Baking soda
spoon
funnel

Procedure:

1.   Pour about 1/2 cup of vinegar into the plastic bottle.

2.   Loosen the balloon by pulling and blowing a little bit of air into the balloon.

3.  Using a funnel or rolled up piece of paper, gently pour the baking soda into the balloon.  Fill the balloon half way  full of baking soda.

4.  Gently place the balloon on top of the mouth of the bottle.  Be careful not to get the baking soda into the bottle.

5.  Gently lift the balloon and let all the baking soda fall into the bottle and watch the balloon inflate.

6.  Congratulations your done...
